The first time in the world that achromatic hologram has been used in coin production. The colorless hologram, at various shades of grey, features a three-dimensional image of the Pope´s face, which in reality is flat. The optical illusion is due to the use of nanotechnology, a range of techniques and methods to create all sorts of structures of nanometric dimensions, i.e. 0,1 to 100 nanometers.
